To make the most of your experience: 🎥 Watch our videos and read through the FAQs so you and your guests know what to expect. (Trust us, it helps!) Sometimes the person who books doesn’t fill in the group, and we advise against surprises! 🎨 We’ll provide everything you need—paint, goggles, and brushes—then send you to the splatter zone. From there, you can create, get messy, drum, dance, and let loose! 🖌️ Start slow with paint. Yes, safety glasses are required for all participants and are provided free of charge during your visit. While the paint is safe and non-toxic, it can be a bit uncomfortable if it gets in your eyes, so we provide the glasses to keep you protected and comfortable.
Slip them on and get ready for some creative fun!
While it’s possible, we’ve hosted thousands of parties with no issues—but we still recommend taking a few precautions just in case. We offer ponchos for purchase to help keep things contained, and we also have plastic car seat covers available to protect your seats.
The paint may stain some fabrics, but it washes off most materials with soap and water. With a little preparation, you’ll be all set to enjoy the fun without worrying about the mess!
Dry yourself in the fans + wear a poncho= 😁 a great idea!
All of the paint will wash off your body easily in the shower at your home.
You are welcome to bring plastic coverings for your car and guests, or you can purchase our ponchos for the ride home.
We also have a Drying Station!
We have a sink for washing hands, or if you get some in your eye. The sink isn't for cleaning the paint off of you. This is because water will reactivate the paint and actually create more of a mess for your ride home. Drying in the fans and wearing the poncho is the best method we have.
We actually strongly recommend you wear ponchos while you paint, so you don't get as messy and it protects your ears, but if you choose to get messy, then the ponchos are a great way to get home. We also have additional plastic to cover your car. if you use both you will have even more protection.
We use washable tempera paint that’s non-toxic, AP certified, and conforms to ASTM D-4236 regulations, making it safe for all ages to enjoy. It’s washable, but be aware—it can stain some fabrics, so we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting messy. Get ready to glow and splatter in vibrant colors!
Is paint included?
Paint is purchased separately since every group uses different amounts. Families typically choose their paint after booking so they can plan based on their final guest count. Most birthday groups start with our Paint Max Paint Pack once they’re booked — it’s our best-value paint option and makes party prep easy. Additional paint options are also available in-studio on party day if needed.
To save the most, we recommend keeping your group as small as possible—the fewer people, the less paint and supplies you'll need! Another great way to save is by sticking to creating an art piece, as paint wars use more supplies.
For your car ride home, we offer plastic seat covers for sale, but you can also bring your own plastic to cover your car for additional savings.
Also, be sure to check out our paint and merch on our online paint menu. Purchasing ahead of time can save you big!
Absolutely! You’re welcome to paint on the walls, floors, and pretty much anything else in the paint area. You’ll even see the walls lit up with glowing fluorescent paint from all the creative fun our past guests have had!
Just a quick request: please keep the lobby area (the party area) clean—we want to make sure everyone can enjoy the space and keep it party-ready. We promise we’ll try to keep the mess to a minimum... but no guarantees—it's a paint party after all!
It’s definitely more of a night club vibe than a coffee shop! 🎉 We turn up the energy with upbeat music featuring a mix of 90s hits and some of today’s popular artists. Think of it as a fun, creative space where paint replaces drinks, and the fun never stops! Get ready to dance, splash, and let loose!
We want everyone to have an awesome experience at Splatter Box! Our paint parties can be lively, with splattering, movement, and occasional loud music. For guests with sensory sensitivities or noise concerns, we recommend visiting during our quieter weekday hours or booking a private session to have more control over the environment. Noise-canceling headphones can also make the experience more comfortable.
Feel free to reach out to us ahead of time, and we’ll do our best to ensure everyone has a fantastic time!
Yes! Every painter needs to have a signed waiver before entering the splatter zone.

Adults: Can sign for themselves online or in studio. If anyone forgets, no worries — waivers can also be signed in-studio on the day of your visit.
Our studio is located in a historic 1860 building. The main floor is generally navigable for most wheelchairs, but the space is not fully ADA compliant due to the building’s original structure.
Please note that our restroom is small and not ADA accessible. We’re happy to assist guests with mobility needs — just let us know ahead of time, and we’ll do our best to make your visit comfortable.
