My name is Laura and I have always wanted to be an artist. I actually minored in art at OSU but was never brave enough to pursue it as a career. It wasn't until I had a health scare while pregnant with my son that I realized life was too short to not do what you love.
I wanted to create a place that people wanted to be in, a space that encouraged creativity, inspired imagination, and was fun. I basically wanted to create a place that, no matter the age, individuals could be themselves. The Albany Arts Studio (AAS) became a culmination of every dream job I could imagine: teaching classes, open studio time, gallery showings, and a splatter paint booth. Thankful I was able to find the perfect building to bring all my wants to life: the 150 year old Albany Ironworks building. It is perfect.
AAS is more then just a studio; it is my passion project. I hope that when you visit you discover something new about yourself that makes you fall in love.
Most importantly, I hope that AAS helps you to unleash your creativity.
